Current Characters: Yuri Tsukikage, Setsuna Higashi

Character: Impmon
Fandom: Digimon Tamers

History: Impmon at the Digimon Wikia
Personality: Impmon is a troublemaker through and through, especially at the start of the series. He doesn't care about the people he encounters and often goes around terrorizing them, mostly by scaring them with the flames he can make. It's clear that he loves feeling powerful, since he usually picks on those who can't fight him (like most humans and Calumon) or those who won't (like Terriermon, who was ordered to leave him alone). This backfires more than once, but it doesn't stop him from picking fights, because he's just stubborn like that.

He's also very prideful and arrogant. Despite being physically weak for a digimon, he considers himself very strong and looks down on the digimon who hang around human partners. He sees it as useless to have a Tamer and says he doesn't want or need one. This mostly stems from the fact that his original tamers, a pair of toddler siblings, weren't mature enough to handle him and mistreated him.

Despite being a loud-mouthed jerk most of the time, Impmon does actually have a softer side to him. As much as he doesn't care for the Tamers and their digimon, he's near them a lot of the time and he often tries to talk or hang out with the other digimon. He just does it in a terribly insulting way.

Once he digivolves to Beelzemon, however, his harmless antics aren't so harmless anymore. While at first the idea of killing the kids and their digimon to get his powers disgusts him, he soon has no trouble trying to kill them and comes very close to succeeding. While Impmon was fairly power hungry to begin with, Beelzemon is even worse. Even though digivolving was his goal, he's still not satisfied. After killing Leomon, he says he'll keep fighting digimon and loading their data.

After nearly getting killed himself by Gallantmon and then being spared by Jeri, even though he destroyed her partner, his bloodlust disappears. From that point on, he does his very best to atone. While he's still mouthy, he's not as arrogant as before and has several moments where it's made clear that he hates what he's done. He becomes more caring as a result and, at the end of the day, is very much the Tamers' friends.

Other: As an important note, I am taking Impmon from the Digimon Tamers dub, since that's the version I've watched.

First Person:
Do you have a motto? If so, why would you consider that to be your motto? If not, is there a reason that you don't have one? What is it?
A motto, huh? I never really thought about it before, but I guess it's the same for me as for most other Digimon. Y'know, the good old 'Survival of the Fittest'. It's the strong who survive in any world and they push the weak around. And if you want something, you can't just wait around for someone to hand it to ya on a silver platter, you've gotta take it for yourself! By force, if needed. And I've got plenty of force to go around!

Do you believe in fate? Why or why not?
Fate? Bah, who cares about that? Listen here, I don't care if there's such a thing as fate, destiny, or whatever ya wanna call it. I just do what I want and no one's gonna stop me. I'm not gonna let some mystical mumbo-jumbo keep me from havin' a blast!

If you have any secrets, how far would you go to keep them from being revealed?
S-secrets!? Haha, don't be ridiculous, I don't... have any of those. But, um, lessay I did have a secret, well, I'd try pretty hard to keep it to myself. Not that that'd be hard, since I'm a free 'mon, anyway! I ain't gonna be blabbing my secrets to anyone.

...but I don't have any secrets, okay?! And if anyone says I do, just point me to them and I'll make 'em stop spreading lies about me!

You find a wallet on the side of the road, but there's no one around. What do you do with it?
Eh, I don't really care. What, are ya expectin' me to be a good samaritan here or something? If they didn't wanna lose it, they shoulda kept a closer eye on their stuff! I guess I could take it for myself, but why bother? If I want something, I'll just take it for myself. I'm not gonna buy anything.

Do you have any dreams or ambitions? How do you intend to achieve them?
'Course I do, I'm a Digimon! We've all got that same dream: to digivolve! Now, all of these little digipets think the key to digivolving is having a human partner, but that's just a buncha crap. The power's inside us already and you don't need some dumb human to get to it. So I'm not bothering with a partner, I'm just gonna digivolve all on my own! How? Well, uh... I'll figure it out! I just have to get stronger on my own and I'm sure I'll digivolve eventually!

What do you think is your greatest strength and why? What do you think is your greatest weakness and why?
'Greatest' strength, are you kidding me? I've got too many to count! There's my good looks, my awesome jokes, my incredible strength... But, if I gotta pick something, I guess my independence is pretty great. Unlike the other losers in this town, I don't rely on anyone and I'm all the better for it. As for weaknesses, I don't really have any! I mean... I guess there's the fact that I still can't digivolve... But I'm working on that, so when that's done, I won't have any weaknesses at all!

How do you feel about your hometown? What do you think the people there would say about you?
I don't really have a hometown. The Digital World doesn't really count and to be honest, I don't really like talking about that place. I guess the closest thing I've got is the place I bio-emerged at. It's an okay place, but it's only good when I shake things up a bit. And if ya found someone here who knows me (good luck with that, by the way) then they wouldn't say a lot, since most a' the time people just run away from me. I guess those brats with their digipets would have some unfriendly words, but no one cares what they think.

You have tickets to your favorite band's concert tonight, but your best friend asks you for an urgent favor that would make you miss it. Which one do you choose and why?
The concert, obviously. Why should I miss something I wanna see just to help out some stupid chump who's too weak to take care of his own problems, huh? But, uh. I don't really care about concerts. And I don't exactly have a best friend either. Or... a friend at all, I guess...

...Next question!

You're doing some spring cleaning. What is easy for you to throw out? What is difficult for you to part with? Why?
Well, that's an easy one! I don't have a house, so I don't have to worry about cleaning one! And even if I did, I don't have any stuff weighing me down. All I've got is what you see on me and I don't need anything else. You should consider it yourself.

If you had the chance to change any one thing about yourself, would you take it? What would you change?
Damn straight I'd take it! I don't want to have to rely on anyone, but... Well, I ain't gonna turn down a free shortcut, now am I? So I'd like to make myself stronger. A lot stronger! Strong enough to digivolve all on my own! That's all I want.

Third Person:
He tried to pretend like he was sleeping. So far, it was going pretty well, thanks to the fact that he didn't have the energy to move anyway. He carefully opened his eyes just a little. There they all were, the kids and their digipe- ...partners. The same people he'd been trying to kill just a little while ago and they had brought him along with them on the Ark back home. He couldn't understand why. It would have been easier for them to just leave him to rot. Hell, that's what he would have done, if they were him.

He looked at Renamon, who was still holding him. It was her and her partner that had come to get him and she hadn't let go of him since. Why did they care what happened to him? He regretted what he'd done. He regretted it a lot. But that regret wasn't going to turn back time and bring Leomon back. What he'd done and what he'd tried to do afterward was unforgivable.
He wanted to make things right. He didn't care if they didn't believe he was sorry. It wasn't about that. It wasn't about him. It was about Leomon and...

Jeri.

He turned his head. There she was, all by herself. All the others were talking, but she was just sitting there, all quiet. He'd hurt her really badly and he could never make that right. Just looking at her, all lost and broken... It made him sick to his stomach to know that was his fault. Why had he thought getting power was so important, anyway?

'To have power is not to be strong.' Right. That's what Leomon had said, right before he'd killed him. It was only now that he really understood what he meant by that. Beelzemon had been really powerful... But he sure hadn't felt strong after the battle. He'd been even more pathetic than when he was just Impmon.

He closed his eyes again. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do now. Maybe... he could go back home, to Mako and Ai. If they were even willing to forgive him.
